Mississippi State, Kentucky play to scoreless draw in Lexington

Mississippi State and Kentucky played to a 0-0 draw Sunday in Lexington, giving the Bulldogs consecutive scoreless results on the road after their draw at No. 6 Tennessee less than 72 hours earlier.

Jenny Harrison recorded her fourth shutout of the season with five saves. Kentucky took 13 shots, while Mississippi State blocked four and forced three off target. The Bulldogs entered the match with a 7-1-3 overall record and a 1-0-3 mark in Southeastern Conference play.

Mississippi State had two notable chances early. Kyli Switalski's free kick from just outside the box in the 11th minute was tipped up off the crossbar, and Hailey Johnson's one-on-one opportunity in the 21st minute was saved by Kentucky's goalkeeper.

Mississippi State has earned points in every conference match this season. The Bulldogs will begin a three-match homestand by hosting No. 17/21 South Carolina at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, Oct. 2. The match will air on ESPNU.
