Millsaps men’s soccer team beats Centenary 1-0 at Harper Davis Field

The Millsaps College men’s soccer team defeated Centenary College 1-0 at home Friday night at Harper Davis Field, remaining undefeated at home. Millsaps held advantages of 24-14 in shots and 8-5 in shots on goal.

Freshman Reid Brenner scored the only goal in the 46th minute. The goal came after Zachary Diamond’s shot struck the right post, with Brenner scoring off Diamond’s pass. Brenner finished with five shots, including two on goal, while Diamond recorded an assist and led the Majors with six shots, two of them on target.

Sophomore goalkeeper Edward Steinwand made five saves to complete the shutout. He made saves in the 68th and 71st minutes as Centenary pressed for an equalizer and preserved Millsaps’ lead through the final whistle.

Millsaps will travel to Belhaven University to face the Blazers on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Jackson, Mississippi.
