Millsaps men’s soccer defeats MUW 8-0 in Columbus

Millsaps defeated MUW 8-0 on Monday night at the Roger Short Soccer Complex in Columbus, Mississippi. The Majors took 13 shots, including eight on goal, while MUW had three shots and two on frame.

Carson Dwyer opened the scoring with a shot into the lower-right corner, assisted by Myles Walden with 14:27 remaining in the first half. Harrison Williams then scored into the lower center of the goal, followed by goals from Reid Brenner with 32:29 left in the half and Brady Bell before halftime.

Dakota Vann converted a penalty kick in the second half to give Millsaps a 5-0 lead. Walden scored again in the 65th minute, and Millsaps added two more goals late in the half to complete the 8-0 victory.

Alden Davenport played all 90 minutes in goal and made two saves for the shutout. Alden Romano and Zachary Diamond also recorded assists for the Majors.

Millsaps will face Hendrix College on Friday in Conway, Arkansas, beginning at 7 p.m. Live video and live statistics will be available at gomajors.com.
