Northeast Agriculture Students and FFA members attended the Alcorn County Fair Feeds the Farmer event, where they met and engaged with farmers and policymakers.
The students also heard from Will Maples with Mississippi State University Agriculture Economics. The event was organized by Seth Bragg, Soil and Water District administrator, who invited the students to attend.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
