Alcorn State women’s soccer hosts Grambling State in SWAC opener

Alcorn State’s women’s soccer team will host Grambling State University in its SWAC opener at 5 p.m. at Key City Park in Vicksburg. The Lady Braves enter the match with a 3-4-2 record.

Alcorn State opened SWAC play with a 0-0 tie against Alabama State last Sunday.

Grambling State leads the all-time series 20-3-3. The teams last met in the SWAC Tournament semifinals on Nov. 7, 2025, when Grambling State defeated Alcorn State 6-0 at Lady Panther Soccer Field in Prairie View, Texas.

Grambling State enters the matchup with a 1-7-2 record and is 0-3-1 on the road. Chris Logan is in his first year as the Tigers’ head coach.

Nyla Dore-Anderson leads Grambling State with five goals and 10 points through eight games. Cariana Pou has started all nine games and has one goal, one assist and 721 minutes played. Jaleah Gonzalez has one goal and two points on 10 shots, including four shots on goal, through eight games.
