The Vicksburg Police Department on Tuesday identified the victim in a single-vehicle crash on July 19, 2026, as Ruby Franklin, 62, of Vicksburg.
Preliminary investigation indicates Franklin experienced a medical emergency while operating her vehicle in the parking lot of 2842 Clay Street before the vehicle struck a fixed object, the department said.
Franklin was transported to Merit Health River Region, where she was later pronounced deceased, the department said. The Vicksburg Police Department extended its condolences to Franklin’s family and friends.
