VICKSBURG, Miss. — The Vicksburg Police Department said Friday it has concluded its investigation into a June 29 crash that killed an electric-bike operator at the intersection of First North Street and Clay Street.

The department identified the operator as Marlon Robinson and said he sustained serious injuries in the collision. He was taken to Merit Health River Region and later airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he died from his injuries, the department said in a July 2 news release posted on Facebook.

Investigators determined the crash was a tragic accident and said no criminal charges are expected in connection with the incident. The department extended its condolences to Robinson’s family and loved ones and asked the community to keep those affected in their thoughts and prayers.

Electric bicycles have become more common in many communities, raising public interest in traffic safety and roadway interactions among drivers and cyclists. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
