Vicksburg Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers were out along the Miss Mississippi Parade route yesterday, helping ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for attendees.
The department said officers worked throughout the event assisting with traffic control, crowd safety and maintaining a secure environment so residents and visitors could enjoy what it called one of Vicksburg’s most cherished traditions.
The department thanked the community for its cooperation and support and extended congratulations to contestants, participants and organizers who helped make the parade a success.
Large community events such as the Miss Mississippi Parade typically require advance planning and coordination among law enforcement, event organizers and volunteers to manage traffic flow, public safety and crowd movement. The Vicksburg Police Department’s post emphasized teamwork and a commitment to public safety.
