Jackson police investigate fatal pedestrian crash on McDowell Road

The Jackson Police Department said it is investigating a fatal crash in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at 411 E. McDowell Road. The department said it received the call about the incident at about 8:41 p.m. this evening.

Police said the department’s Accident Investigations Unit and Mobile Crime Unit have been notified and responded to the scene. The investigation is active, and officers are gathering evidence and conducting interviews.

The Jackson Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the city of Jackson, Mississippi, and routinely investigates traffic collisions, including those involving pedestrians. Such investigations typically involve scene processing, witness interviews and review of any available video or physical evidence to determine contributing factors.
