Students thank Ocean Springs police during National Police Week
Students at an Ocean Springs school thanked the Ocean Springs Police Department during National Police Week after officers stopped by to visit, a Facebook reel showed. The post said students created posters, gave gifts and offered words of encouragement to officers who serve the coastal Mississippi community.
The Facebook reel credited a teacher identified as Mrs. Simpson with organizing the effort, saying she helped lead the charge in creating posters and arranging the presentation for the department. The post did not provide additional details about the visit or the school.
National Police Week is observed each May to honor law enforcement officers and recognize their service and sacrifice. Local school visits and community outreach are common ways police departments and schools build relationships and teach students about public safety and civic responsibility.
The Ocean Springs Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency serving Ocean Springs, Mississippi. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
