Starkville police promote benefit for Colby at Rick’s Cafe

The Starkville Police Department urged residents to attend a benefit tonight from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rick’s Cafe to support Colby’s recovery, the department said in a Facebook post. The post also reminded motorists that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive is one-way only in front of the cafe.

The Starkville Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for Starkville, Mississippi, and often posts community notices and traffic advisories to inform residents about local events. Rick’s Cafe is a local establishment that is hosting the event to raise support for an individual identified only as Colby in the department’s message.

Community benefit events like this often draw neighbors, friends and local organizations looking to provide financial and moral support during medical recoveries or other personal crises. The police department’s traffic reminder is intended to reduce congestion and help ensure the safety of attendees and passersby.

Motorists planning to travel near Rick’s Cafe during the event should be aware of the traffic pattern and consider alternate routes. Details about the fundraiser and Colby’s condition were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
