Rick’s Cafe, Del Rendon Foundation host fundraiser for injured Starkville officer

Rick’s Cafe and the Del Rendon Foundation are hosting a fundraiser Friday, July 17, to raise money for Colby, identified in a Facebook post as Officer Huffman, organizers said.

Organizers said Huffman was injured in late February in a traffic accident while assisting in the escort of a funeral service. The post said the fundraiser aims to help Huffman and his family with ongoing medical and travel expenses.

The event will feature local live music, including Lee Battle, Hard Luck Trio and JD and The Muddy River Band, organizers said. All proceeds will go to Officer Huffman and his family, the post said.
