Southaven officers meet child with Paw Patrol K-9

Southaven Police Department said on Facebook that after responding to a call in the area, Officer Prewitt, K-9 Officer Jordan and his K-9 partner, Zargo, met a child named Savannah and her Paw Patrol K-9, Chase.

The department posted photos of the encounter and said Savannah was so excited to meet a real-life K-9 that meeting her was the highlight of the day for the officers.

K-9 units are a routine part of many municipal police departments and are trained for patrol duties, tracking and detection. Departments often use K-9 teams in searches and community events to build trust and public safety awareness.

The Southaven Police Department’s post highlights a human-interest moment that underscores community policing efforts and positive interactions between officers and residents. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
