Oxford Police Department adds two patrol officers

The Oxford Police Department said in a Facebook post that Cole Brown and Carson Newell are joining the department as patrol officers. The department welcomed the two new hires and said it looks forward to the dedication and service they will provide to the community.

The Oxford Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency serving the local community. Patrol officers typically perform frontline duties such as responding to calls for service, conducting traffic enforcement and engaging in community policing to maintain public safety.

Additions to patrol ranks can affect response capacity and community relations by increasing the number of officers available for patrols and outreach. New officers often complete field training and work with experienced partners as they integrate into the department, supporting day-to-day operations and crime prevention efforts.

The department’s announcement did not provide additional details about the officers’ backgrounds or start dates. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
