Sheriff Bailey presents donated school supplies to Rankin County superintendent

In a Facebook post, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office said Sheriff Bailey presented Rankin County School District Superintendent Shane Sanders with donated school supplies this morning. The office said deputies collected the supplies over the past several weeks at various locations.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for Rankin County, Mississippi, and conducts community outreach and support programs in addition to public safety duties, the post said. The Rankin County School District oversees public schools across the county.

Local law enforcement donation drives aim to ease the burden on families and ensure students have necessary materials as they prepare for the school year. Partnerships between sheriff’s offices and school districts are a common form of community support in many counties.

Details about the total amount of supplies or plans for distribution were not released in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
