Miss Hospitality visits Rankin County deputies, presents ‘Hero Hug’ pins
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that Autumn Calhoun, who holds the title Miss Hospitality State Elementary America 2026, visited the sheriff’s office and presented deputies with “Hero Hug” pins to wear during their tours of duty.
The post said Calhoun came by the office in the evening and handed the pins to deputies as a gesture of support. The sheriff’s office is the primary law enforcement agency for Rankin County, Mississippi, responsible for patrol, investigations and community safety.
Miss Hospitality State Elementary America is a youth pageant title; holders of such titles often take part in community events and outreach. The office did not provide further details about the visit or the origin and meaning of the “Hero Hug” pins.
Community gestures like this can bolster morale and highlight connections between law enforcement and local residents. The sheriff’s office did not announce additional activities tied to the visit.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
