Deputy Jordan McQueary completes Mississippi law enforcement academy

Deputy Jordan McQueary has completed the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy and has been assigned as a school resource officer, a Facebook post said.

The Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy provides basic training and certification for law enforcement officers in the state, covering topics such as patrol procedures, criminal law, firearms training and community policing. Completion of the academy is typically a prerequisite for state certification and active duty as a deputy.

School resource officers are sworn law enforcement officers assigned to work in schools to promote safety, provide a law enforcement presence and build relationships with students and staff. Agencies and school districts often cite such assignments as part of broader efforts to enhance school safety and community engagement.

The Facebook post offered congratulations to Deputy McQueary on the achievement. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
