Rankin County Sheriff’s Department partners with Sam’s Club for school supplies drive

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department said in a Facebook post that it is partnering with the Sam’s Club in Pearl, Mississippi, for a school supplies drive today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The department said the drive benefits children in the Rankin County School District. Organizers encouraged residents to stop by Sam’s Club to donate supplies or to take advantage of collection points set up to gather items for students returning to school.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department has run community outreach and public-safety initiatives in the county, and partnerships with local businesses are a common way law enforcement agencies support families and reduce barriers to education. Sam’s Club is a national retail chain with a location in Pearl that frequently hosts community donation events.

Details about specific items requested or how donated supplies will be distributed were not included in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
