Rankin County deputies collect school supplies at Richland Walmart
Deputies with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department will be at the Walmart in Richland today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. collecting school supplies for children in the Rankin County School District, the department said in a Facebook post.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department is the primary law enforcement agency serving Rankin County and often partners with local businesses and community groups on outreach and charitable efforts, including supply drives and public safety events.
School supply drives help families prepare for the start of classes by reducing the cost burden of purchasing items such as notebooks, pencils and backpacks. Local drives can also help schools ensure students have the materials they need to participate fully in the classroom.
Residents who wish to donate may bring supplies to the Walmart during the announced collection hours. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
