Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers marks 40th anniversary

Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers celebrated its 40th anniversary today, marking four decades of providing the public a safe, anonymous way to submit tips to law enforcement, the organization said in a Facebook post. Members of the board of directors joined law enforcement partners and members of the media for the observance.

The organization said the milestone reflects long-standing partnerships across South Mississippi built on trust and a shared dedication to public safety. Crime Stoppers programs typically allow community members to provide information about crimes without revealing their identities, a model intended to encourage tips that can help investigators.

Organizers said the partnerships with police, sheriff’s offices and local media have been central to the program’s work, helping to connect community leads with law enforcement resources. The post thanked everyone who has supported the group’s mission and noted a forward-looking commitment to continue the effort.

The post added a hope for the next 40 years. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
