JACKSON, Mississippi — Police are investigating after an unresponsive man was found lying in a street Tuesday evening, the Jackson Police Department said.
A Precinct 3 officer on routine patrol about 8:30 p.m. observed a person in the roadway and checked on the individual, the department said. The officer found an unresponsive male, according to the department.
Authorities said the man is believed to be about 42 years old, but investigators are still working to positively identify him before notifying next of kin. The cause and manner of death have not been determined, and detectives are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding the death.
