PICAYUNE, Mississippi — Picayune police said officers were dispatched at 1:20 p.m. May 13 to 301 South Blanks Avenue after a body was discovered at a residence. Officers arrived and found a deceased male identified as Eddie Lawrence Jenkins, the department said. The case is being investigated as a homicide.
The Picayune Police Department, which serves the city in Pearl River County in southern Mississippi, said investigators are treating the scene as active. The department posted the initial information on its social media account and asked anyone with information to come forward.
Authorities routinely secure scenes and follow investigative procedures in suspected homicides while detectives gather evidence and interview witnesses.
