Oxford Police honor Blue Line Award recipients
OXFORD, Mississippi — The Oxford Police Department recognized three employees with its Blue Line Award, praising investigative work and support for victims, the department said in a Facebook post.
Detective Atziri Ortiz received the award for what the department described as “exceptional investigative work” in dismantling a multi-state theft ring. Data Analyst Shelby Hernandez was honored for stepping up to support Victim Services during a critical period, and Detective Jason Asbury was recognized for investigative work that led to the swift resolution of a bomb threat investigation at Oxford Middle School, the post said.
The Oxford Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for Oxford and is responsible for public safety, investigations and community policing. Awards such as the Blue Line Award highlight work that departments say strengthens investigations, supports victims and bolsters school and community safety.
