Oxford police honor officers at LCLEOA awards banquet

OXFORD, Miss. — The Oxford Police Department said in a Facebook post that it celebrated members of the force at the LCLEOA Awards Banquet last night.

The department named Communications Officer La’Erin Burton its Communications Officer of the Year and Officer Eli McMain Rookie of the Year. Retired Lt. Mark Hodges was recognized for his career and recent retirement, the post said.

The Oxford Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for Oxford, Mississippi. The department’s post noted its pride in the honorees and thanked them for their service, professionalism and commitment to the community.

Awards banquets such as the LCLEOA event recognize individual achievement, support morale and highlight the work of officers who interact with residents daily. Local recognition can also reinforce public trust and cooperation between officers and the communities they serve.
