Officers from the Ocean Springs Police Department attended a Police Week ceremony at Keesler Air Force Base this week, the department said in a Facebook post.
Officer Daehnert delivered a speech honoring the service, sacrifice and dedication of law enforcement officers across the community and nation during National Police Week, the department said. National Police Week is observed to recognize law enforcement service and to remember officers who have died in the line of duty.
The department said events such as the ceremony strengthen partnerships between local agencies and military partners at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi, and serve as a reminder of the symbolism behind the Thin Blue Line.
