Ocean Springs officers graduate Harrison County law enforcement academy

OCEAN SPRINGS, Mississippi — The Ocean Springs Police Department congratulated Officers Nathaniel Atwood and Connor Johnson on their graduation from the Harrison County Law Enforcement Academy, calling the completion an important milestone in their careers.

The department said on its Facebook page that the officers’ hard work, dedication and commitment to serving the community led them to the achievement. It described completing the academy as the beginning of a rewarding career in law enforcement.

The Harrison County Law Enforcement Academy provides basic training for recruits from local agencies, covering topics such as patrol procedures, legal instruction and defensive tactics, and is commonly a required step before officers assume full duties.

The department said it is proud to have Atwood and Johnson as members of the Ocean Springs Police Department and looks forward to the positive impact they will make while serving city residents. It invited the community to join in congratulating the officers and wished them continued success and safety.
