Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said on its Facebook page July 22, 2026, that it is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Bertha and that tropical storm warnings remain in effect for the Mississippi Gulf Coast as Bertha moves westward through the Gulf.
The agency said tropical storm conditions are expected to continue July 22, 2026, and that a Coastal Flood Warning is also in effect for parts of Mississippi. The post included the advisory, “Stay safe, Mississippi!”
MEMA, the state agency responsible for coordinating disaster response and emergency planning, issues such advisories to help local governments and residents prepare for hazardous weather. Tropical storm warnings and coastal flood warnings are intended to prompt preparations such as securing property, heeding local evacuation orders, and avoiding travel in areas prone to flooding.
Residents along the coast should monitor local weather updates and follow instructions from local authorities. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
