The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency reminded residents Friday that Disaster Service Centers in Franklin, Lawrence and Lincoln counties will close at 6 p.m. today, Aug. 14, 2026, while the center in Wilkinson County will remain open, the agency said in a Facebook post.
MEMA said applicants do not need to visit a center to apply for assistance. Residents can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), the post said.
Disaster Service Centers provide in-person help to people seeking federal disaster assistance, answer questions about eligibility and offer information on how to file claims. MEMA coordinates state emergency preparedness and works with federal partners such as FEMA to support recovery efforts after storms, floods and other disasters.
