The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help locate Gary Scott Gilstrap, who is wanted on charges of felony fleeing of a law enforcement officer and possession of stolen property, the agency said.
The sheriff’s office said Gilstrap is also wanted under the Mississippi habitual offender statute, which the release says means he has two or more prior felony convictions. The agency’s social media post identifies Gilstrap by name and in one instance also refers to “Walker.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office at (662) 328-6788 or Golden Triangle Crimestoppers at 1-800-530-7151. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the T3Tips app. Crimestoppers guarantees anonymity and said tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
The sheriff’s office thanked the community for its assistance and noted that all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
