Harrison County sheriff seeks public help locating Lugene Scott

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help locate Lugene Gitrell Theo Scott, who is wanted on a warrant charging failure to register as a sex offender, investigators said.

The office said the active warrant has been entered into the national database. A photo the office released is current as of January 2024. Scott is 6 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds.

Officials urged anyone with information about Scott’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers by downloading the P3 Tips app or by calling Tips. The office said that to qualify for a reward, all information must be submitted through Crime Stoppers.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency responsible for public safety and investigations in its jurisdiction, including enforcing sex offender registration laws. Failure to register is a criminal offense intended to ensure communities and investigators have current information about individuals required to register. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
