Lowndes County joins Click It or Ticket seat-belt enforcement
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said it will join law enforcement agencies nationwide in the Click It or Ticket campaign from Aug. 19 through Sept. 7, 2026, increasing enforcement to encourage seat-belt use.
In a post on the agency’s Facebook page, deputies urged drivers and passengers to buckle up “every trip, every time,” saying seat belts save lives. The office said officers will step up enforcement during the campaign to promote compliance and reduce traffic injuries.
Click It or Ticket is a national, annual campaign led by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that partners with local, state and federal agencies to boost seat-belt use through public education and targeted enforcement.
The sheriff’s office used the slogans “Click It. Buckle Up. Arrive Alive.” and the hashtags #ClickItOrTicket, #SeatBeltSafety, #LowndesCountySheriffsOffice and #DriveSafe in its post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
