Jackson police investigate death on Northpointe Parkway

The Jackson Police Department is conducting a death investigation in the 600 block of Northpointe Parkway, the department said in a Facebook post Tuesday. The post said the scene is active and asked the public to “standby for update.”

Officials did not provide additional details in the social media post. The department did not immediately respond to requests for more information.

Death investigations typically involve securing the scene, collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and coordinating with a coroner or medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of death. Such inquiries aim to establish whether foul play was involved and to ensure public safety.

The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency that serves the local community. An active investigation at a neighborhood location can affect traffic and prompt police to ask residents to avoid the area while officers work.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
