Hattiesburg police motor unit competes at MLEOA 2026 motor competition
Hattiesburg Police Department’s Motor Unit attended the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association 2026 Motor Competition and training event, the department said in a Facebook post. The event was part of the MLEOA Summer Conference and drew motor officers and deputies from across the South to test precision riding skills.
The department posted photos showing officers taking part in precision cone courses, slow-ride competitions and tactical riding evaluations. The Hattiesburg Police Department, known locally as HPD, praised its motor officers for competing against some of the best departments in the state.
Motor units typically handle traffic enforcement, escorts and public safety duties and rely on specialized training to operate safely and effectively. Competitions and training gatherings such as the MLEOA conference give officers a chance to sharpen skills, learn tactics and build relationships with peer agencies, officials said.
The department did not provide additional details about results or future events. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
