First Circuit DA’s office remembers fallen officers on Peace Officers Memorial Day

The First Circuit District Attorney’s Office posted photos on Facebook May 15, 2026, commemorating Peace Officers Memorial Day and remembering law enforcement officers from Northeast Mississippi who died in the line of duty.

The office said the Northeast Mississippi Line of Duty Memorial event was held May 7 in Amory and described the ceremony as “well-attended and beautifully conducted,” honoring the families, friends and agencies of the fallen officers. The post thanked the officers and their families and said their sacrifice is remembered and honored “today and always.”

Peace Officers Memorial Day is observed nationally on May 15 to honor law enforcement officers who die in the line of duty. Local district attorney offices, police departments and community groups often hold memorials to recognize those losses and to offer support to surviving family members and colleagues.

The First Circuit District Attorney’s Office serves as the prosecuting authority in the region and frequently participates in community and law enforcement events. The Facebook post included a list of the officers remembered during the memorial; the office also shared photographs from the ceremony. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
