Booneville Police Department hosted a Pistol Optics Fundamentals & Proficiency Course Aug. 13-14, the department said in a Facebook post. The multi-day training, offered in partnership with Spearpoint Range, brought together officers from several local agencies for advanced instruction on red dot optic systems.
Despite unseasonably hot weather, participating officers completed rigorous field exercises designed to elevate operational proficiency, the department said. The training aimed to improve officers’ ability to use pistol-mounted optics, a tool commonly used by law enforcement to enhance aiming and target acquisition.
The department extended its gratitude to local businesses and community members who donated hydration supplies and provided lunch for attendees. That community support, the post said, helped ensure personnel remained safe, healthy and focused throughout the demanding two-day course.
