Southaven Police host Northwestern Center police leadership school in 2027

Southaven Police Department said it will host the Northwestern Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff & Command session from March 22 to July 23, 2027, the department said in a Facebook post.

The multiweek course is designed to develop command-level law enforcement leaders and, the department said, will enhance an organization’s command staff, improve strategic decision-making and prepare leaders with advanced skills necessary in modern policing.

Southaven is a city in DeSoto County, Mississippi, and its police department provides law enforcement services to a growing suburb of the Memphis metropolitan area. Hosting a recognized leadership school allows local officers to receive advanced training without traveling, department officials said.

Police leadership training has become central to efforts to improve accountability, community relations and operational effectiveness across law enforcement agencies. The Southaven Police Department said it has set a high standard within the department and is committed to developing its leadership for tomorrow. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
