Ralph Eubanks to discuss Mississippi Delta history, economy at HistoryIsLunch

Ralph Eubanks will examine the history and economy of the Mississippi Delta at noon Wednesday, September 9, during the HistoryIsLunch program at the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.

Eubanks, author of “When It’s Darkness on the Delta: How America’s Richest Soil Became Its Poorest Land,” is a faculty fellow and writer in residence at the Center for the Study of Southern Culture. He will draw on research and travels throughout the region to explore the forces that shaped the Delta and highlight efforts to address economic inequality.

The event is free and will stream live on the Mississippi Department of Archives and History’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Copies of Eubanks’ book will be available for purchase, followed by a book signing.
