Mississippi Adult Education marks AEFL Week 2026

Mississippi Adult Education is celebrating Adult Education and Family Literacy Week 2026, highlighting learners, educators, community partners and advocates involved in programs across the state.

During the past program year, Mississippi Adult Education served more than 7,000 learners. The programs helped adults pursue high school equivalency, college and career pathways, workforce training, English language acquisition and family-sustaining careers.

Northeast Mississippi Community College President Dr. Ricky Ford was recognized as a supporter and advocate for the college’s Adult Education team. His advocacy also includes sharing the importance and impact of Adult Education with leaders at the state and national levels.

Mississippi State Adult Education Director Beth Little said, “This week, we celebrate the educators, navigators, administrators, support staff, community partners, and most importantly the adult learners who prove every day that it's never too late to pursue new opportunities.”

The observance celebrates the students, educators, partners and advocates who support Adult Education in Mississippi.
