Starkville woman charged with felony shoplifting in Tupelo

Ashley Evans, 24, of Starkville, was arrested and charged with one count of felony shoplifting after police investigated a reported theft at a Wal-Mart on North Gloster Street in Tupelo, according to the Tupelo Police Department.

Police said officers spoke with employees at the store at 3929 North Gloster Street about shoplifting. Store personnel reported that two individuals stole multiple items from the business.

Evans was arrested after further investigation. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered her held on a $5,000 bond, and the case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
