Adult Education programs across Mississippi are celebrating Adult Education and Family Literacy Week under this year’s statewide theme, “Let’s Go, Mississippi!”
The theme asks where Mississippi can go when the state invests in adult education. Throughout the week, organizers are highlighting learners, educators, partners, opportunities and success stories that demonstrate the impact of adult education in communities.

The observance is centered on three activities: educating, advocating and celebrating.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
