Vicksburg police investigate shooting on Halls Ferry Road

The Vicksburg Police Department is investigating a Saturday morning shooting at 2607 Halls Ferry Road in Vicksburg.

Officers responded around 10:51 a.m. after receiving a report that a male had possibly been shot. They found evidence of a shooting in the parking lot near the gas pumps.

A short time later, an individual arrived at an area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was being transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for further treatment.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and processing evidence collected at the scene. The shooting remains under investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
