Jackson Police are investigating a homicide in the 200 block of Vine Street after a Black male reportedly suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died from his injuries.

A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
