Three arrested in Sears Avenue shooting in Tunica

The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people in connection with a Sept. 30 shooting on Sears Avenue in Tunica, according to a department press release. Milton Smith, 19, Lamarion Smith, 18, and Quindarrius Gates, 18, all of Tunica, were each charged with five counts of attempted murder, one count of shooting into a dwelling and one count of unlawful discharge of a firearm within a populated area.

Deputies collected more than 50 spent shell casings at the scene and recovered three firearms while serving the arrest warrants, the sheriff’s office said.

The shooting was reported at about 6:18 p.m. in the Old Subdivision area. Deputies found one person who had been grazed by a bullet; the person was treated at the scene by Pafford and declined transport to a hospital.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 662-910-0400. Information leading to an arrest may qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
