Three arrested in Greenville pawn shop burglary investigation

Three people were arrested after a reported burglary at a pawn shop on Highway 82 East in Greenville, police said. Terrance Hogan, Jacob Taylor and Malania Fields were each arrested on a charge of commercial/business burglary.

Greenville Police officers responded to the business at 1836 Highway 82 East at approximately 8:59 a.m. on September 21, 2026. The business owner had detained Hogan until officers arrived, according to the department.

A preliminary investigation found that someone entered the business by cutting a large hole through the rear wall. Investigators identified Taylor and Fields as additional suspects believed to have been involved.

Information obtained during the investigation led officers to the Colonial Inn at 1812 Highway 82 East, near the pawn shop. With assistance from additional Greenville police officers, Taylor and Fields were located and taken into custody without further incident. Officers also recovered merchandise believed to have been taken from the business.

All three individuals were transported to the Greenville Police Department for processing. Anyone with additional information was encouraged to contact the department or Crime Stoppers. The suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
