The Hattiesburg Police Department arrested and charged Laron Jordan, 31, of Hattiesburg, with one count of aggravated assault following a shooting on North 25th Avenue.
Officers responded at approximately 4:08 a.m. on September 5, 2026, to the 200 block of North 25th Avenue after an altercation between two individuals. One person suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police said the incident is believed to have been isolated and involved individuals who knew one another. There is no known threat to the public, and the investigation remains ongoing.
