Man arrested after reported burglary at Greenville auto dealership

Greenville police arrested Vincent Thomas after officers responded to a reported burglary at Delta Chevrolet, 1009 Highway 82 East, in Greenville. Officers were dispatched at approximately 1:17 a.m. on Sept. 8, 2026, after a report of a suspicious person inside the fenced rear portion of the dealership who was attempting to access vehicles.

Police said officers found Thomas inside the secured area. He allegedly tried to conceal himself between and underneath vehicles before moving beneath the perimeter fence. Officers established a perimeter and located him near a neighboring business, where he was detained without further incident.

During the investigation, officers found evidence indicating that vehicles in the secured area had allegedly been unlawfully entered. Two Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks showed signs consistent with being burglarized, police said. Additional evidence believed to be connected to the incident was collected for further investigation.

Thomas was transported to the Greenville Police Department and booked on a charge of Business Burglary. The case remains under investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming, according to police.
