The Tupelo Police Department is recognizing National Police Woman Day by honoring the women who serve in law enforcement across the country, including those who serve the department and the Tupelo community.
The department said their work is an important part of its operations and the service it provides to Tupelo residents. It also expressed appreciation for their work.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
