The Pascagoula Police Department marked National Police Women’s Day by celebrating the women serving in law enforcement and wearing the department’s badge.
The department said these women bring strength and heart to their work, leading, protecting, serving and inspiring others. It also said they demonstrate that there is no limit to what women in law enforcement can accomplish.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
