Meridian officials share three severe-weather safety tips

The City of Meridian is urging residents to remain weather aware through the evening and check on one another as severe weather concerns continue.

Officials recommended keeping phones charged and emergency alerts turned on, knowing where to seek shelter and moving immediately to a sturdy building and interior room away from windows if a warning is issued.

The guidance also advised avoiding unnecessary travel during severe storms and never driving through flooded roads. Residents were encouraged to stay alert and safe.
