MEMA shares tornado safety guidance during preparedness week
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is sharing tornado safety guidance during Fall Severe Weather Preparedness Week, urging people to identify a safe place before a tornado threatens.
When a tornado warning is issued, people should seek shelter in a basement or a small, interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows. They should also protect their head and neck.
MEMA encouraged the public to watch its video for additional tornado safety tips.
